Silver Creek Herbals 

In 2008 we were searching for land in hopes of finding the perfect place to build our homestead.  The housing market was bad and there were many bank owned, foreclosed homes in our area.  On a whim, we decided to look at a few. We printed a photo of the property and we thought, yeah, let's take a look.  It was a house that desperately needed some TLC.  We arrived to view it on a sunny, fall day and before we even stepped out of the vehicle, we knew it was special.  There was something about this small valley, with it's modest creek that touched our hearts.  It was decided.  This was the place for us.  

Not only did the pre-1920's farmhouse need some work, but the land had not been cared for in many years.  We are continually cleaning the property and committing ourselves to our role as land stewards.  Every year we fall deeper in love with it.  We named our property Silver Creek Springs in honor of the spring fed creek, Silver Creek, which flows through the property.

 

When we met in 1995, Tony was a bicycle mechanic and I was a young tattoo artist.  Our careers in life have stayed the same and evolved simultaneously.  Tony became a carpenter in 1998 and on to a tattoo artist in 2005, while always staying passionate about his great love, bicycles. He raced bicycles professionally during these years, with the dream of eventually owning his own bike shop. We're excited to finally have his dream realized,  The Creeky Wheel at Silver Creek Springs, which is currently under a reimagining.  

I stepped back from full time tattooing in October 2018, as I continue to own and manage the studio I opened in 2003, Crimson Heart Designs in Turtle Lake, WI.  I turned my attention to my other passion, herbalism and botanical skin care. I'm now happily immersed in creating medicinal balms, oils & tinctures from plants grown on our farm.  I've become a Community Herbalist, holding my Western, Asian & Integrative Herbalism certificates, while continuing my herbal education, studying for my Master Herbalist certification.  

Silver Creek Herbals is my brick & mortar location where I practice herbalism and guide folks on herbal choices for their overall health.

 

Sharing all of this with our friends and family has always been exciting and now we'd like to share it with you, too.
